Apprehension 1.0.1 - by David Catmull - uncommon@uncommonplace.com - http://www.uncommonplace.com/ Installation: Put all .u and .int files in your UnrealTournament\System directory. Ever wish you could play CTF on Deathmatch maps? Wish no more! Now you get all the fun of capturing flags without being restricted to one kind of map. The Rules --------- Of course since you're now playing on maps that don't have team bases, things work a little differently. Here's the rundown: - The first person on each team to score a frag is given possession of their team's flag. - There are one or more Scoring Bubbles roaming the map. - You capture flags by carrying your flag and one or more enemy flags into a Scoring Bubble. - When a player scores, all the flags he/she is carrying are removed from the game until the next time someone scores a frag on each affected team. The bubble pops and a new one appears at a random location. - If you are carrying an enemy flag and a teammate has your team's flag, you can give your flag to your teammate by touching him/her. The Bubbles ----------- The scoring bubbles float randomly around the map, mostly staying within reach of the players. If a bubble find itself stuck, it will pop and a new bubble will appear at a random location. When you're carrying your team's flag and one or more enemy flags, or if you are spectating, dots will flash on your screen showing the locations of the bubbles you can't see. They do sometimes get stuck in one area, but that only lasts until someone scores a capture. You can set the number of bubbles that will appear in the game. One is usually enough. You may want 2 or even 3 in really big maps. The Issues ---------- - On some maps, like SpaceNoxx, the flags can fall into an area where players would normally die but the flags do not auto-return. I don't think I can fix this; these maps were just not designed to have flags in them. You'll just have to wait the 25 seconds for the flags to reset. - Bots sometimes freeze when they're just about to score. Fortunately they only do it when they're already in the bubble's path. - Flag Effects sometimes don't do their thing when you score If you have Flag Effects, be sure and get the latest version. The first release of Flag Effects had some incompatibilities with Apprehension. Fixed in 1.0.1: - No longer depends on Flag Domination being installed (oops) - Allows any number of bubbles from 1 to 10 Plans for version 2.0: - Team bubbles - Scoring options from CTF4 (Distribution, Designation, Subtraction, Elimination) The inspiration for this mod came from a thread on the UT Booty forums, so I'd like to thank everyone who participated in that thread for their contributions.
